I'm Carla, the owner and chief upholsterer!

​

I currently live in North London where I grew up, with my husband, two grown up daughters and our cat Millie!

​

Although I have run my own sewing business since 2008, Hang Out The Bunting was founded in 2014 following my move into a small retail space in North London where I ran various craft workshops, children's craft parties and worked on curtain and blind commissions.

​

Following a move away from curtain and blind making, I now work mostly on upholstery commissions, using my 10 years of sewing experience to give a top quality finish to each job I undertake. I can offer both modern and traditional methods of upholstery for domestic and commercial settings.

 

I feel that most upholstery commissions have some kind of story behind them and I love being able to use my skills to keep these stories alive for many more years.

 

I like to work closely with you discussing your requirements, helping you to source fabrics and generally guiding you through the process of having something upholstered. Although upholstery isn't always the cheapest route to take you can be assured that you will be receiving a quality, bespoke piece of furniture that you'll love.
